PostShip or Better Stack
Better Stack wakes up the on-call. PostShip avoids having to wake them.
Better Stack is made for a team that has an on-call schedule and logs to dig through. PostShip is made for whoever deploys and wants to know, within the minute, whether the payment page still works.
What Better Stack does
An on-call and observability platform: monitors every thirty seconds, unlimited phone calls, incident management, logs and traces, billed per responder.

Which one to choose
Better Stack is the right choice if
- You have an on-call rota, with a schedule and people to call at night.
- You want logs and traces next to the monitors.
- You want a phone call, unlimited, from the free plan.
PostShip is the right choice if
- You're one or four people, no on-call, and a per-person price makes no sense for you.
- The risk, for you, is Friday's deploy, not Sunday's outage.
- You want the pricing page, the checkout and the payment script checked the way a customer would see them.
Both, often. A team that has Better Stack for on-call can plug PostShip into its host: it checks every deploy and only alerts if that deploy broke something. The two tools don't wake up for the same reasons.
What we're often asked
Better Stack has a free plan with ten monitors and calls. Why pay for PostShip?
PostShip's free plan checks 5 URLs with no card. What you pay for are the checks Better Stack doesn't do: the deploy tracked to the second, the checkout funnel replayed, the rollback. If you don't need them, keep Better Stack.
Does PostShip do on-call?
No. It escalates to a second channel if nobody acknowledged, and it mutes alerts during quiet hours. A duty schedule, rotations, a person to call: that's Better Stack's job, not ours.
Paste your site's URL. PostShip checks it in front of you, no account and no card.
