Activity log

“Who muted the alerts on Monday?” is not a question of distrust: it is the one you ask in front of a silence you cannot explain. The Activity log (workspace menu → Activity log) answers it for the whole workspace, where a project's Log only answers for that project.

What PostShip does

One gesture, one line

Every gesture made by someone on the team, in any project of the workspace, is written down: the time, who, what, on which project. The gestures recorded, by family:

• Projects: created, renamed, address changed, paused, resumed, deleted.
• Monitoring: URL added or removed, journey added, domain added or removed.
• Team: member invited, removed, role changed, left the workspace.
• Alerts and incidents: rules changed, alerts muted or restored, escalation set, incident acknowledged or released.
• Operations: maintenance planned or cancelled, objective added or removed, procedure created or deleted, on-call rotation, stand-in, Ship Gate.
• Public: incident published or updated on the status page, post-mortem shared, client link created or revoked, scheduled report, client portal.
• Integrations: channel connected or disconnected, outbound webhook changed.

By day, filterable

Lines are grouped by day, in your timezone. Filters: the period (7, 30, 90 days), the family of gestures, the project, the person. Filters combine and live in the address: you can send the link.

Ninety days

The log keeps ninety days, whatever the checks' retention plan; beyond that, lines are erased. A deleted project leaves its lines, with its name.

Settings

None: the log writes itself. A read-only member reads it like everyone else.

What triggers an alert

Nothing: it is a memory, not a siren.

Troubleshooting

A gesture does not appear

The log records the gestures listed above, made from the application or the API. A setting not listed — a performance threshold, a quiet hour — is not recorded yet.

The line says “PostShip” instead of a name

The gesture comes from an automation — the Ship Gate, a webhook — and not from a signed-in person.

The name is not the one I expected

The log shows the part of the address before the at sign, like an incident's acknowledgement: it is what you say out loud.
